Introduction

Choosing superior seeds is the key to success in the cultivation of rubber plants. Among the various types of rubber plants available, there are several clones that have a certain advantage. This study focuses on developing a system of identification of rubber plants based on the leaf pattern, by utilizing edge detection technology and pattern matching. The identification process begins with the acquisition of rubber leaf image data, followed by image processing, edge detection, and pattern matching. The edge detection method used is the Sobel method, which is able to detect high precision edges. Furthermore, the system will match the pattern of leaf image inputted with a leaf image template stored in the database.

Rubber plants are an important crop for many countries, providing a significant source of income for farmers and contributing to the global economy. However, the cultivation of rubber plants is a complex process that requires careful selection of seeds to ensure optimal growth and productivity.
