However, since the human body cannot produce vitamin C on its own, we must consume it through foods such as fruits and fresh vegetables. The use of topical vitamin C and injections is also becoming increasingly popular, although it is essential to remember that excessive use can cause side effects.

This study aims to examine the level of knowledge of students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra, regarding the role of vitamin C for skin health, both through oral consumption, topical use, and injection. The study employed an observational descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the SPSS program. Of the 270 students who were respondents, there were 33 students (12.2%) with low knowledge, 233 students (86.3%) with sufficient knowledge, and 4 students (1.5%) with high knowledge.
