Introduction

In the realm of medicinal plants, Styrax Benzoin, also known as incense, has been a long-standing commodity in North Sumatra, Indonesia. In this study, we successfully isolated sixteen endophytic bacterial isolates from the leaves, stems, and incense roots of Styrax Benzoin. Two of these isolates, namely RS01 and RS13, demonstrated significant antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Streptococcus mutans.
