Methodology

The analysis method used in this study is Ordinary Least Square (OLS) by utilizing secondary data in the form of a time series data from 1988 to 2007. The data analyzed included GDP, transportation sector, telecommunications, motor vehicles, road length, population, and number of telephone customers Telkom. Data sources were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), journals, books, and other research results.

Results

From the results of the study, it was found that motorized vehicles, road length, population, and number of telephone customers had a significant effect on the formation of GDP of the transportation and telecommunications sector in Indonesia. This influence shows that an increase in the number of motorized vehicles and adequate road infrastructure can encourage the growth of the transportation sector. In addition, population increases are directly proportional to the need for better transportation and telecommunications services.
