This study originated from the curiosity of the author about how subtitles, especially from the film Pikachu, can encourage and improve students' vocabulary abilities. The purpose of this study was to describe the types of content words found in the Pikachu film transcript and how subtitles play a role in encouraging and increasing student vocabulary.

In post-test, the average value obtained increased to 79.6 with a percentage of success reaching 76%. This proves that post-test shows a significant increase and English subtitles increase student motivation and vocabulary skills by watching subtitle films.
