The data used is a combination of primary and secondary data, analyzed using multiple linear regression methods.

Methodology

This study involved three independent variables, namely:

*** x1 (Rice average price): This variable represents the effect of rice prices on demand. *** x2 (income per capita): This variable represents the effect of population income on rice demand. *** x3 (household expenditure): This variable shows the effect of household expenditure on rice demand.

These three factors were analyzed on the dependent variable, namely Y (the number of rice demand).

Results

The results of the regression analysis show that the price of rice (X1) has no significant influence on the amount of rice demand in Rantau Prapat. This is indicated by the T ratio value smaller than the T table (-8,540626832 <2.032).

Conversely, household expenditure (X3) has a significant influence on the amount of rice demand in Rantau Prapat. This can be seen from the T ratio value larger than T table (4,867> 2,032).

These results indicate that the level of household expenditure is a dominant factor that affects the demand for rice in Rantau Prapat, while the price of rice is not a major determinant factor.

It is essential to note that the results of this analysis only apply to the Rantau Prapat region and may not necessarily be generalized to other regions. Other factors that are not examined in this study, such as the availability of rice, consumption habits, and socio-cultural factors, can also affect the demand for rice in the area.
