Introduction

In the medical world, data analysis plays a crucial role in diagnosing and predicting various diseases. One of the advanced techniques used for this purpose is the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm, which is known for its ability to classify based on existing data. In this context, we will discuss how the KNN algorithm can be applied to predict breast cancer, especially using Dataset Breast Cancer Coimbra. In addition, we will integrate Simple Linear Regression modeling to strengthen predictive analysis.

The KNN algorithm works by finding a "closest neighbor" from the data you want to predict. In this study, we use K = 5, which means the algorithm will consider the five closest neighbors to provide classification. Each neighbor will vote in determining the final classification, based on the most common diseases between them. This process makes KNN very intuitive and simple, but very effective in classification.

In this case, we will use the age and level of glucose as an independent variable that is expected to have a connection with the possibility of diagnosis of breast cancer.

The use of linear regression in this analysis not only provides more understanding of the relationship between variables, but also increases prediction accuracy. By analyzing these two variables, we found that there was a significant positive correlation between glucose levels, age, and the risk of breast cancer. In other words, the higher the glucose level and the older the patient's age, the risk of developing breast cancer also increases. This is very important in determining preventive steps in treatment.

In the testing conducted, we obtained an accuracy rate of 97% of the results of the KNN combination analysis and linear regression. This number shows how effective this method is in providing accurate predictions for breast cancer patients. These results can be a reference for medical personnel in identifying high-risk patients and providing appropriate interventions.
