The study involved 5 informants as a source of data, and data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, unstructured observations, literature studies, and online data search.

Findings

The results of the research analysis showed that housewives in Tanjung Morawa have the ability of media literacy, but their knowledge is limited to awareness of the impact, values, and television functions. They have been involved in applying good television watching behavior to children, but do not yet understand in depth. This finding shows the gap between understanding and the application of good television watching behavior.
