There are a total of 54 samples divided into 6 treatment groups.

Measurements are carried out using a colorimeter for color stability and digital calipers for dimensions. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and continued with the Mann-Whitney test to compare the difference between groups.

Research Result

The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant effect of immersion on color stability, with a significance value P = 0.001 smaller than 0.05. This analysis shows a significant difference between groups A1, B1, and C1. The Mann-Whitney test also shows a significant difference between groups A1 and B1, as well as between B1 and C1, with a value of P 0,0001.

In the aspect of dimensional stability, the results of the Kruskal-Wallis test also showed a significant effect of immersion with p = 0.001. The Mann-Whitney test shows a significant difference in stability between groups of A2 and B2 (p = 0.001), and between groups of A2 and C2 (p = 0.015). In addition, there is a significant difference between groups B2 and C2 (p = 0.001).

Conclusion and Implications

From the results of this study it can be concluded that the immersion of the base of the denture from the acrylic resin of heat polymerization in brown drinks and tea has an impact on color and dimensional stability. The absorption of pigmented fluids in acrylic resin must be considered in dentistry practices, especially in terms of care and maintenance of dentures. This study highlights the importance of considering the properties of materials in clinical applications, as well as providing valuable insights for dental health professionals to optimize the use of acrylic resins in denture care.
