Introduction

Entering the era of industrialization and globalization, Indonesia faces great challenges in providing quality human resources (HR). High quality of human resources is needed to support development in various fields, especially in line with technological developments. One solution to improve the quality of human resources is through outdoor education, such as skills courses. This course not only helps graduates to get skills and expertise, but also have the potential to create jobs for themselves and others.

Outdoor education is a vital component in the development of human resources, and it has been increasingly recognized as a key factor in improving the quality of life of individuals and communities. By providing individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge, outdoor education can help them to become more productive and competitive in the job market. In addition, outdoor education can also contribute to the growth of small and medium businesses, which can create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth.

This study focuses on graduates of skills courses in the city of Medan, with the aim of measuring the relationship between bridal makeup courses, hair beauty, skin beauty, and sewing clothing with skills, entrepreneurial skills, and their work productivity. Furthermore, this research also explores the contribution of course graduates to increase the number of business units, absorption of labor, gross regional domestic income (GRDP), and per capita income in the region.

Research Significance

The hypothesis proposed in this study states that there is a significant relationship between graduates of skills courses and improving skills and entrepreneurial skills. By using data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires and interviews, as well as secondary data from government agencies and scientific journals, this research involves a population of graduates of skills courses that have been actively working or entrepreneurs.

The significance of this study lies in its ability to provide insights into the impact of outdoor education on the development of human resources and regional economies. By examining the relationship between skills courses and entrepreneurial skills, this study can help to identify the key factors that contribute to the success of graduates in the job market. Methodology

The research sample was taken purposive sampling of four types of skills courses, with each course represented by 10 graduates. The analysis tool used includes correlation analysis to determine the relationship between variables and regression analysis to determine the contribution of the independent variable to the dependent variable.

The data collection process involved the use of questionnaires and interviews to gather information from graduates of skills courses. The questionnaires were designed to collect data on the skills and entrepreneurial skills of graduates, as well as their work productivity and contribution to the regional economy. The interviews were conducted to gather more in-depth information on the experiences and challenges faced by graduates in the job market.

Research Findings

The results showed that graduates from hair makeup and skin beauty courses have a positive and significant relationship with the skills of graduates at a level of 95 percent. In addition, graduates also show increased entrepreneurial skills and good work productivity. However, although graduates of outdoor education make a positive contribution to the development of employment opportunities and the number of small and medium businesses, this study found that the contribution was not significant to the GRDP and GRDP per capita of the people of Medan.

The findings of this study suggest that outdoor education can play a significant role in improving the skills and entrepreneurial skills of graduates. However, the study also highlights the need for further research to explore the impact of outdoor education on the regional economy.
