This study uses a descriptive survey method involving 92 traders as a sample, which was chosen using the Slovin and Stratified sampling formula. The study aims to analyze the waste management system, healthy market sanitation, and traders' health complaints in the Pangururan pilot market. The data collected includes demographic information, waste management practices, market sanitation conditions, and health complaints experienced by traders.

Results

The results of the study show that all samples of traders were in the productive age range of 15-64 years (100%). The majority of traders worked for 8-10 hours (53.3%) and have worked for more than 6 years (70.7%). These findings indicate that the traders in the Pangururan pilot market are experienced and work long hours, which may contribute to their health complaints.

Inadequate Waste Management System

The waste management system in the Pangururan pilot market does not meet the SNI 19-2454-2002 standards concerning Waste Management Operations. This can be seen from the management of waste generation, waste storage, and unparable waste collection. The study found that the market lacks adequate landfill facilities, and waste is often stored in an open area, leading to unpleasant odors and attracting disease vectors.

Poor Market Sanitation

The Pangururan Pilot Market Sanitation Assessment based on RI Permenkes No. 17 of 2020 concerning the Healthy Market produced a score of 37.4%. This indicates that market sanitation does not meet the requirements. The facilities that are at least eligible include market buildings, landfills, control of diseases of diseases, food places and food, hand washing places, and sanitation of traders/employees. The study found that the market lacks adequate facilities, including hand washing places and sanitation of traders/employees.

Impact on Traders' Health

As many as 91.3% of traders experienced health complaints. Complaints are most experienced by food traders, food traders, equipment traders, and cosmetic traders, services, & medicines (100%). The complaints most often experienced in the last 1 month are indigestion. The study found that the traders in the Pangururan pilot market are exposed to various health risks, including foodborne illnesses and respiratory problems.

Based on the results of the study, here are some recommendations to improve the Pangururan pilot market conditions:
