What is PSEIIHiveSE?
Before we get started with the newsletter, let's quickly recap what PSEIIHiveSE actually is. For the uninitiated, PSEIIHiveSE stands for Philippine Society of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineers, Inc. - Hive Student Edition. It's a mouthful, we know! But essentially, it's a student-led organization that aims to foster a vibrant community of aspiring engineers. We provide a platform for students to connect, collaborate, and grow their skills in the fields of electrical, electronics, and computer engineering. We offer workshops, seminars, projects, and networking events that are tailored to help students succeed in their academic and professional journeys. Our main goal is to empower the next generation of engineers and equip them with the tools they need to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Recent Events & Activities
Let's jump into the exciting stuff! PSEIIHiveSE has been buzzing with activity lately, and we've got a lot to share. First off, we recently hosted a hugely successful workshop on Arduino programming. The workshop was led by industry experts and provided hands-on training to participants. Attendees learned the basics of Arduino and got to build their own projects, from simple LED circuits to more complex sensor-based systems. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants saying they felt more confident in their programming skills after the workshop. We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who attended and made the workshop such a success!
Project Showcase
Next up, we had our annual Project Showcase, where members got to display their innovative engineering projects. We saw some truly amazing creations, from autonomous robots to smart home systems. The judges were impressed by the creativity and technical skills on display. The winners of the Project Showcase received prizes and recognition for their hard work. This event is a great way for students to show off their skills and gain valuable feedback from industry professionals. We would like to thank the mentors and judges that guided the event.
Networking Night
We also hosted a Networking Night, where students got to connect with professionals from various engineering companies. This event provided a great opportunity for students to learn about different career paths and make valuable connections. The professionals shared their experiences and offered advice to students. Many students landed internships and job opportunities as a result of this event. We plan to host another Networking Night soon, so stay tuned for updates!
Upcoming Opportunities
Looking ahead, PSEIIHiveSE has a lot of exciting opportunities in store. We're planning a series of workshops, seminars, and competitions that you won't want to miss. One of the highlights is our upcoming workshop on Robotics and Automation. This workshop will cover the fundamentals of robotics and automation, including topics like robot design, programming, and control. Participants will get to work with industry-standard robotic platforms and learn how to build their own automated systems. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in pursuing a career in robotics or automation.
Call for Volunteers
We're also looking for volunteers to help us organize our upcoming events. If you're passionate about engineering and want to get involved in the PSEIIHiveSE community, we encourage you to volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to develop your leadership skills, meet new people, and make a difference. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, from event planning to marketing to technical support. If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up through our website. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Hackathon
We are also planning a hackathon in the coming months. PSEIIHiveSE wants to challenge its members to put their skills to the test and come up with innovative solutions to real-world problems. Participants will have 24 hours to develop a prototype and present their ideas to a panel of judges. The winners will receive prizes and recognition. This hackathon is a great way to showcase your talents, learn new skills, and network with other talented engineers. Stay tuned for more details on the hackathon, including the theme, rules, and registration information.
Member Spotlight
In each newsletter, we'll be featuring a PSEIIHiveSE member who has made a significant contribution to the community or achieved something noteworthy. This month, we're excited to spotlight Jane Doe, a senior electrical engineering student who recently won a national award for her research on renewable energy. Jane's research focused on developing a more efficient solar panel using nanotechnology. Her work has the potential to revolutionize the solar energy industry and make renewable energy more accessible to everyone.
Jane's Journey
Jane has been an active member of PSEIIHiveSE for the past three years. She has participated in numerous workshops, projects, and competitions. She credits PSEIIHiveSE for helping her develop her technical skills and providing her with the support she needed to succeed. Jane is also a mentor to younger students and is always willing to share her knowledge and experience. She is a true inspiration to all of us and we're proud to have her as a member of PSEIIHiveSE. In her free time, Jane enjoys hiking, playing the guitar, and coding. She hopes to pursue a career in renewable energy and make a positive impact on the environment.
