Introduction

The research was conducted in Bangun Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang, with a height of about 30 meters above sea level. The study took place from October 2002 to February 2003, for four months.

The research activity employed a factorial separate plot (RPT) design, which was divided into two main factors. The first factor was the composition of the nursery media (M), which had three levels:

M0 = Top Soil: Humus (1: 0): This treatment used only top soil without any humus mixture.
M1 = Top Soil: Humus (1: 1): This treatment used a mixture of top soil and humus in a 1:1 ratio.
M2 = Top Soil: Humus (1: 2): This treatment used a mixture of top soil and humus in a 1:2 ratio.

The second factor was the watering interval (i), which consisted of four levels:

I0 = Watering every day at a dose of 350 ml: This treatment involved watering the seeds every day with a dose of 350 ml.
I1 = Watering once a day at a dose of 700 ml: This treatment involved watering the seeds once a day with a dose of 700 ml.
I2 = Watering every two days at a dose of 1050 ml: This treatment involved watering the seeds every two days with a dose of 1050 ml.
I3 = Watering every four days: This treatment involved watering the seeds every four days.

The growth of Siamese orange seedlings can be influenced by two main aspects tested in this study: the composition of nurseries and watering intervals. From the results of the study, it is expected to find an optimal combination between media composition and watering intervals that can provide the best growth for Siamese orange seeds. This combination will not only help in the efforts of conjoined orange cultivation but also provide broader insights for farmers and researchers regarding effective nursery techniques.

The study found that the combination of M1 (Top Soil: Humus 1:1) and I1 (Watering once a day at a dose of 700 ml) provided the best growth for Siamese orange seeds. This combination resulted in a higher growth rate, better root development, and improved overall health of the seedlings.
