Introduction

Morbesi-Besi leaves, derived from plants in the Rubiaceae family, have been widely recognized for their numerous health benefits. Inhibition diameter for ethanol extract to Salmonella typhi bacteria reaches 26.8 mm, while the ethyl acetate fraction shows the inhibition diameter of 27.4 mm to the staphylococcus aureus. Conversely, the N-Hexane fraction and the remaining fraction showed a lower inhibitory activity than the two fractions, with a diameter of 22.7 mm inhibition for Staphylococcus epidermidis and 12.4 mm for propionibacterium acnes.

Phytochemical Screening

Testing phytochemical screening in ethanol extract shows the presence of steroid/triterpenoid compounds, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, antasquinone, and tannin. Meanwhile, the N-Hexane fraction identified contains steroid compounds and triterpenoids, which are supported by TLC results that show 5.9 stains after being sprayed with H2SO4 and 7 stains by spraying Liebermann-Burchard.
