Recommendations

Based on the results of this study, the researcher suggests that the Deli Serdang Regency Government immediately issue a regional regulation or decision concerning the instructions for the formation of BPD which refers to Law Number 32 of 2004. This is important to ensure that the BPD in Deli Serdang Regency can carry out its functions basically optimal in supporting the process of democratization at the village level.

In addition, efforts need to be made to increase the understanding of BPD members about their roles and functions, as well as increasing BPD's capacity and resources. Increasing community participation in BPD activities is also important to strengthen the role of BPD in the democratization process.

Future Research Directions

Future research should focus on the implementation of BPD in other villages in Deli Serdang Regency, as well as the impact of BPD on the democratization process in the region. Additionally, research should be conducted on the role of BPD in promoting community participation and empowerment.
