Introduction

The Medan Class IIA Women's Penitentiary Institution is one of the most populous prisons in Indonesia, with a state of overcapacity that has the potential to affect the physical and psychological conditions of its residents, including their mental health. This study aims to understand the relationship between religious and forgiveness activities with mental health in women in the Class IIA Women's Lapas Medan.

The Medan Class IIA Women's Penitentiary Institution is a correctional institution that houses a large number of female residents, many of whom have been convicted of various crimes. The institution is facing a state of overcapacity, which has led to a range of problems, including overcrowding, poor living conditions, and inadequate access to healthcare and other essential services. Methodology
