Introduction

In today's fast-paced business world, entrepreneurship education among students has become increasingly important. The University of North Sumatra's Faculty of Economics and Business Management Study Program is no exception, as it aims to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with the skills and mindset to succeed in the business world. This study aims to analyze the effect of entrepreneurial, personality, and environmental knowledge on entrepreneurial desires among students of the Management Study Program at the University of North Sumatra.

Entrepreneurial Knowledge: The Foundation of Entrepreneurial Success

Entrepreneurial knowledge refers to the understanding of various aspects related to the business world, such as management, marketing, and product innovation. Students who have good knowledge about entrepreneurship tend to be more confident and able to identify business opportunities. With adequate knowledge, they can formulate a more mature business plan and respond to challenges that might arise. Research shows that the higher the level of knowledge of student entrepreneurship, the greater their desire to enter the world of entrepreneurship. In fact, a study by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) found that students with higher levels of entrepreneurial knowledge are more likely to start their own businesses.

Personality: The Driving Force Behind Entrepreneurial Ambition

Personality also plays an important role in determining one's desire to be entrepreneurs. Therefore, analysis of student personality becomes important in this study, to find out how individual characteristics can influence their decision to become an entrepreneur. The surrounding environment, both social and economic, also influences the desire of entrepreneurship. In this study, primary data was collected through questionnaires that were distributed to management study program students. Samples were taken using random and purposive sampling techniques, with a total of 85 respondents. Analysis conducted to test hypotheses is multiple regression, which allows researchers to find out the extent to which each factor affects entrepreneurial desires.

The results showed that the knowledge of entrepreneurship, personality, and environment had a positive and significant influence on the desire of students to entrepreneurship. These findings provide a deeper understanding of how various factors can interact with each other and shape student attitudes towards entrepreneurship. With this information, the university can formulate programs that are more effective in increasing knowledge and encouraging entrepreneurial enthusiasm among students.

This study provides important insights on the factors that influence the desire of entrepreneurship among students. Through increasing entrepreneurial knowledge, fostering strong personality characteristics, and the creation of a supportive environment, it is expected to be born a generation of tough and innovative entrepreneurs. By understanding the influence of these three aspects, it is expected that educational institutions can be more effective in preparing students to face the challenges of the business world in the future.

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:
