Research Methods

This study aims to analyze the relationship between risk factors and complaints experienced by patients with uterine myoma at the Adam Malik Hajj Hospital in Medan during 2014-2015. The method used is an analytical approach with cross-sectional design and consecutive sampling methods. The population of this study was all patients diagnosed with uterine myoma, with a total sample of 120 people taken from the medical record. Other symptoms recorded are 82 abnormal bleeding (63%), 97 people (80.8%), abnormal frequency of 70 people (58.3%), and 75 abortion events (62, 5%). These results indicate that age, parity, BMI, and menarche are significant risk factors for uterine myoma.

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between risk factors such as age, parity, BMI, and symptoms experienced such as abnormal bleeding, pain, increased urinary frequency, and the incidence of abortion with the incidence of uterine myoma.
