Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the world, affecting not only physical health but also psychological well-being, particularly among vulnerable groups such as pregnant women. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the level of anxiety of pregnant women and their decision to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Abadijaya Puskesmas, Depok City.

In 2020, COVID-19 was first discovered in Wuhan, China, and quickly spread throughout the world. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 65% of respondents in Indonesia expressed willingness to be vaccinated, but other studies showed that only 57.4% of pregnant women were willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety of pregnant women and their decision to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Abadijaya Puskesmas, Depok City. The study seeks to understand the factors that influence the decision-making process of pregnant women regarding vaccination, with a particular focus on the role of anxiety.

This study employed an analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample consisted of 96 pregnant women visiting the Abadijaya Health Center, Depok. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square and Fisher test.

The results of the analysis conducted showed that the majority of pregnant women did not experience symptoms of anxiety (50%). However, 60% of them were not willing to receive the first dose of the vaccine, and 57.1% were not willing to receive the second dose. Meanwhile, 50.8% said they were willing to receive a booster vaccine. Furthermore, research showed that there was no relationship between age, gestational age, the number of previous pregnancies, work, and education level with the decision to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. However, a significant association was found between the level of anxiety and the decision to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, with a P-Value of 0.000.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between the level of anxiety of pregnant women and their decision to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Anxiety experienced by pregnant women can affect their attitude towards vaccination, which in turn has the potential to hamper efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This finding is consistent with previous studies that have shown a link between anxiety and vaccine hesitancy.
