Introduction

Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, a region in Indonesia, has been facing challenges in increasing the income of its fishermen. In an effort to address this issue, research was conducted by Wildani Lubis, entitled "Mystus Nemurus Value Analysis in Increasing Fishermen's Income." This study aimed to explore the potential of baung fish as a profitable commodity and to analyze the added value of processed baung fish products in increasing fishermen's income.

The fishing industry is a significant contributor to the economy of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. However, the income of fishermen in this region has been stagnant for years. One of the analytical methods applied was the Hayami method, which aims to calculate the added value and income generated from processed fish products.

Results

The results of the study showed that Salai Baung fish gave an added value of Rp. 33,848.99 per kilogram, with an added value ratio of 38.46 percent. This shows that processing baung fish not only improves product quality but also provides significant economic benefits for fishermen. The income earned from this processed product is Rp. 33,428.21 per kilogram for each production. If a fisherman produces Salai Baung five times a month, the monthly income produced can reach Rp. 1,303,700.

The results of this study confirm that increasing the added value of processed baung fish products has great potential in increasing the income and welfare of fishermen. The high added value of Salai Baung fish shows that this product has good demand in the market and can be further processed to increase competitiveness. In addition, the existence of substantial added value shows the potential for further innovation in product processing.
