Introduction

The cocoa industry is a significant contributor to the economy of North Sumatra, with the majority of its exports going to Malaysia. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the supply and demand for exports of cocoa beans from North Sumatra to Malaysia in 2020, using multiple linear regression analysis, time series analysis, and causal analysis.

Methodology

This study utilizes a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the factors that influence the supply and demand for exports of cocoa beans from North Sumatra to Malaysia. The data used in this study is the annual time series data for 15 years, starting from 2000 to 2014. The results of the analysis are then used to project the supply and demand for exports of cocoa beans in the period 2015-2020.
