Civil Responsibility of PT PIM

The results showed that PT PIM had tried to meet civil accountability for environmental pollution through several steps. First, the company conducts an analysis of the environmental impact resulting from its activities. Second, PT PIM carries out environmental management in accordance with the work plan and company budget (RKAP), as well as making Environmental Management Plans (RKL) and Environmental Monitoring Plans (RPL). Third, PT PIM applies the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in company management.

Since 1990, PT PIM has also been active in empowering small businesses and cooperatives in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD), which is part of the company's social responsibility. However, in the case of pollution caused by ammonia gas leaks, PT PIM has not fully carried out the responsibility of the victims. If pollution occurs again, PT PIM has a direct and immediate responsibility (strict liability) to provide compensation to the victims.
