The development of composite materials has become increasingly important in various industries, including construction, automotive, and aerospace. In this study, we focus on the manufacture of polyester composite BQTN 157-EX with a reinforcement of bentonite and surfactant cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). Bentonite, a type of clay, is used as a filler material to improve the mechanical properties of the composite, while CTAB, a surfactant, is used to modify the structure and nature of bentonite to make it more compatible with the organic polymer material.

This shows that the part of the ammonium alkyl was successfully interested in the commercial bentonite layer. The treatment of bentonite with CTAB is an important step in making the composite, as it allows the bentonite to interact with the polyester resin and improve the mechanical properties of the composite.

Characterization of Composites

In conclusion, this study shows that the addition of bentonite improves the mechanical properties of the composite.
