This article discusses the effect of the use of Tiktok social media on students' ability to learn English. With the increasing popularity of Tiktok, educators and researchers are exploring its potential as a learning tool. This study aims to investigate the impact of Tiktok on students' speaking skills, particularly in the context of English language learning.

Background

Tiktok is a social media platform that has gained immense popularity among young people. It is known for its short-form videos, often set to music or other audio, that can be easily created and shared. The platform has become a hub for entertainment, creativity, and self-expression. Methodology

After that, they were given treatment by watching the learning video from the Tiktok account. After the treatment period, students returned to post-test to measure the extent of their speaking ability to increase. The results of this study indicate that the average student speaking ability has increased significantly. This can be explained by an interactive and interesting way of learning through a short video presented on the Tiktok platform. In addition, the active involvement of students in the learning process, such as imitating pronunciation and practicing speaking based on video content, also contributed greatly to improving their speaking skills.
