Introduction

Putra Deli Beach, located in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, is a 22-hectare stretch of coastline that holds great potential for the development of mangrove ecosystem ecotourism. This study aims to examine the feasibility and carrying capacity of mangrove ecotourism at Putra Deli Beach, with a focus on inventory of supporting facilities and infrastructure, the potential of mangroves measured through the transect method, and the level of suitability of mangrove ecotourism determined through special criteria and supported by interviews with the community and tourists.

Methodology

The study was conducted from March to July 2015 using the purposive sampling method to identify the potential of mangroves and interviews with related parties. Three observation stations were selected, namely Station I in the west, Station II in the middle, and Station III in the eastern part of Putra Deli Beach. The inventory results show the existence of mangrove species such as Avicennia Alba, A. Lanata, A. Marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera Cylindrica, Acrostichum Speciosum, and Lumnitzera Littorea with population density exceeding 1000 trees/ha.

Analysis of Mangrove Ecotourism Conformity Levels

The analysis of mangrove ecotourism conformity levels shows that all stations have a high level of suitability, with the following details:
